Weekly Client Ad Reporting with Claude
Cut weekly Amazon Ads reporting and negative keyword work per client
“from 5 hours a week per client to 30 minutes”
Per source Reported by an agency about its own client work, not independently verified.
Copy-paste prompt
Using my connected Amazon Ads account for [client], show yesterday's and last 7 days' spend, sales, ACoS and orders by campaign. List search terms with more than [X] clicks and no orders as negative keyword candidates, but don't add them; give me the list to approve. Then write a five-line executive summary I can send the client.
The source didn't publish its exact prompt. We wrote this starter so you can try the same workflow. Replace anything in [brackets].
What they did
Shuqing Ke describes a client's weekly routine before and after connecting Claude to the Amazon Ads API through Amazon's MCP server. Before: log into the ads console, check keyword performance, filter weak keywords in Excel and add negatives to each account. After: ask Claude for yesterday's performance or an executive summary for a client, with negative keywords added in the background.
How it went
She says reporting went from 5 hours a week per client to 30 minutes of conversation with Claude. Ads API approval took about a week.
We only report what the source says. Results are self-reported unless noted.
Worth knowing
An agency post selling setup help ('reply API'), written when Amazon's MCP server was in open beta. Adding negatives 'in the background' means the agent writes to live accounts, so review what it adds.
