Negative Keyword Cleanup with Claude and the Seller Labs MCP
Audit an ad account and add negatives for search terms that waste money
“the AI added 83 negative keywords across the campaigns”

Copy-paste prompt
Audit my Sponsored Products search terms for the last 60 days. List every search term with spend and zero orders, grouped by campaign, with clicks and spend. Before you change anything, write out the full change list: campaign, the negative you'd add, match type, and why. Flag any term that converts in other campaigns, since blocking it everywhere could cut sales. Wait for my OK.

What they did
The CEO of Seller Labs connected Claude to his own store's ad account through his company's MCP server, which can make live advertising changes. In one session the AI audited the account, found the search terms spending money with no orders, and added negative keywords across the campaigns that were wasting it. He sets every tool that changes something to need his approval in Claude and has the AI list each change (old value, new value, reason) before it makes it.
How it went
He says the AI added 83 negative keywords across the campaigns, work he'd been putting off for weeks, in one sitting. The change list hid a judgment call: one brand name was a zero-order term in one set of campaigns but one of the better-converting terms in the rest of the account, so blocking it everywhere would have cut off sales.

Worth knowing
The author runs Seller Labs, which sells the MCP he used. His advice: start read-only for a few weeks, use Amazon's built-in rules for fixed rules, and keep a person reading the change list before it touches money. For agencies, he suggests one client account per session.
