A Non-Developer Building His Own Amazon Ads Tool with Claude Code
Build the Amazon Ads tool you've wished existed by describing it in plain English

Copy-paste prompt
I manage Amazon Ads and I'm not a developer. I want a small local tool that [reads my bulk file / search term report] and [shows wasted spend by campaign and suggests negatives]. Ask me questions first, then build the smallest working version. Explain how to run it, and add one feature at a time after I test.
The source didn't publish its exact prompt. We wrote this starter so you can try the same workflow. Replace anything in [brackets].
What they did
David Zimmermann, who runs the Amazon Tools League community and has managed Amazon Ads for 7+ years, says he has never been a developer. Playing around with Claude Code turned into an SOP dashboard for Amazon marketers, and for 40 days he kept building the tool he had always wanted. His loop: describe what he needs in plain English, let Claude write the code, test it, give feedback, iterate.
How it went
No results yet. He says his 'just one more feature' list is longer than when he started, and in a later post warns that 'possible' doesn't mean 'easy' when building tools without code.
We only report what the source says. Results are self-reported unless noted.
Worth knowing
He offers early members of his VIP community free lifetime access to the tool, so he has a stake in it. Expect long evenings of iteration ('repeat until 11pm').
